“Thus, your visions should be glorious – things that will glorify God when they manifest! You should be seeing with your mind’s eyes who God says you are, what He says you have and what He says you can do. This is the new you.”
“And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are-northward, southward, eastward, and westward;
“for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.” – Genesis 13:14-15
For effective meditation, you need pictures and not just words. The word of God has to be converted to the pictures that you hold on to and which you have accepted as your new reality.
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22)
What you see with your mind’s eyes and would love to have will affect the way you think and behave. It is god to know that the Holy Spirit creates God’s word that we see, think and speak.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”- 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Thus, your visions should be glorious – things that will glorify God when they manifest! You should be seeing with your mind’s eyes who God says you are, what He says you have and what He says you can do. This is the new you. Accepting it makes you think differently about yourself, and empowers you to speak and behave differently. You will also respond differently to the challenges that come your way because these God-inspired visions strengthen you to withstand the issues of life and to produce the best results having overcome them already in your imaginations.
Conversely, people who lack visions from God’s word have no reason to go out to fight to overcome because they are already defeated from within.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)
“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.” (Proverbs 29:18 NKJV)
It is a spiritual law to have visions and it is a law you should keep. You will be happy when you have Word-based visions or revelations about yourself. Without visions you will be stranded, naked or empty.
Helen Keller, who was physically blind, said, “The only thing worse that being blind is having sight but no vision.”
Visions should be based on God’s word and you and I know that God’s word has limitless resources. Michael Hyatt observed, “Never limit your vision based on your current resources.”
An anonymous quote says this about vision, “It means you are willing to believe in things that for now, only you may be able to see.” Another anonymous quote goes this way, “If you create a vision for your life, doors will open.”
God expects you to have beautiful visions and write down what you are seeing.
“I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.
Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:1-3)
The word of God provides you with limitless opportunities to create visions for yourself. This is what the life of faith is all about. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). God says it and you believe Him and visualize it and do as God instructs, and God performs it.
“Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord” (Luke 1:45 NKJV).
Obey the commandment of renewing your mind. When you have visions based on God’s word, you can no longer retain the old thinking that negates such visions. What you see and keep seeing will control you. Seeing the truth in God’s word sets you free to live the way the truth has mapped out for you. If you behold lies, you will be bound to lying circumstances, feelings and behaviours. Go for the truth.
Say: Dear Lord, thank You for Your word. Lord, give me the grace and boldness to create visions from your word that will transform my life in Jesus Name, Amen. Thank You Lord.
Have a great day!
