“God is willing to grant your desires but what are your desires?”
“You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.” (Psalms 145:16)
Your desires are your ladders to successful living. If they are very high, you will get to great heights but if they are low, you can’t climb high with such desires. God is willing to grant your desires but what are your desires? You need new desires in order to think differently and create new habits for your change. Habits are produced by thoughts because thoughts are plans. A higher level that you are yet to desire and think about cannot become yours because you lack the habits to create that kind of change.
“Your desires are your ladders to successful living. If they are very high, you will get to great heights but if they are low, you can’t climb high with such desires.”
Proverbs 12:5 says, “The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.” Thus, you need to seek new heights and renew your mind to go in that direction and then you would be able to engage in the habits that will change your life. “Successful people are simply those with successful habits,” says Brian Tracy.
When your thoughts are disorganized, it will show in the way you work and live. People spend time thinking about many things but it is always better to commit your plans to God so that with the help of His higher thoughts (His word) you can sift your thoughts, engage in right thinking and coordinate your habits. “Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).
“When your thoughts are disorganized, it will show in the way you work and live.”
Your thoughts will move in the direction of your desires.
Therefore, it makes sense to have lofty desires in order to create lofty thoughts. So, if you have new desires, your thinking will be fashioned after the new desires. In essence, the Christian has to actively engage in having desires that align with God’s exceedingly great and precious promises and by so doing create higher thoughts that will drive new habits. It was because Noah accepted God’s higher desire of building an ark that he could alter his habits to engage in such a tasking exercise of building an ark. As a result, he was able to create his desired change.
In other words, new desired destinations propel new thinking which in turn will serve as the catalysts for creating new habits.
Say: Dear Lord, thank You for Your word. Lord, I ask that you quicken me to change my desires to match with Your exceedingly great and precious promises in Jesus Name, Amen. Thank You Lord.
Have a great day!
