“It is a great first step to know that there are wars that do take place in the mind which must be fought and won.”
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)
It is a great first step to know that there are wars that do take place in the mind which must be fought and won. Nobody is spared from fighting these wars because all human beings fight the wars of the mind.
Actually, the negative mentality is as a result of losing such a war. It shows that the individual has been overpowered by the reality of the negative thoughts instead of believing God’s word and staying positive. When someone hears God’s word but allows the enemy to take it away, he or she will have a negative mentality in the area of life that God’s word was stolen.
The wars in the mind will never go away because that is where the enemy comes to tempt us through negative thoughts and imaginations that are against God’s word in order to cause us to doubt God and stay powerless.
Your responsibility is to learn how to think God’s higher thoughts always so that you would never be at the same level with the devil – beneath, negative and depressed.
“Your responsibility is to learn how to think God’s higher thoughts always so that you would never be at the same level with the devil – beneath, negative and depressed.”
Thinking should not be a passive exercise; you should be conscious of your thoughts and take the time to think productively. You should put a demarcation between what God has said to you and what the enemy is saying and showing to you through the five physical senses. Most of the time, the enemy will mock the area of your life that appears very far from what God had promised you. To stay positive, you have to continue trusting God’s promises that cannot fail.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
This is what meditation is all about – setting your mind to think and visualize the great things you are expecting from God and staying focused on them despite what your circumstances are saying.
And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are-northward, southward, eastward, and westward;
“for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. (Genesis 13:14-15)
Your mind’s eyes, like Abraham’s, have to see afar off, possessing the blessing as true and as yours indeed. If you keep it this way, you will remain in faith and with a positive mentality but if you yield to the lies of the enemy, you will be left with a negative mentality. Fight and win the war.
“Your mind’s eyes, like Abraham’s, have to see afar off, possessing the blessing as true and as yours indeed.”
Say: Dear Lord, thank You for Your word. Lord, I ask that You strengthen me to fight and win the wars in my mind in Jesus Name, Amen. Thank You Lord.
Make peace with God:
Say: Lord Jesus, I thank You for laying down your life for me. I repent of my sins and confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God had raised Him from the dead, I am saved. Jesus, be my Lord and personal Saviour. I rejoice because God is now my Father, Amen.
Have a great day!
