98-YEAR-OLD MAN WALKS 6 MILES EACH WAY TO VISIT PARALYZED WIFE IN THE HOSPITAL: SAYS ‘I AIN’T NOTHING WITHOUT MY WIFE’ – Luther Younger, a 98-year-old Korean War veteran, walks about six miles each way, rain or shine, to visit his paralyzed wife in the hospital. “I ain’t nothing without my wife,” he reportedly said. Luther and his wife, Waverlee, have been married for over 50 years. Due to health issues, she’s been hospitalized for nearly two weeks. Even in the rain, he is said to walk to be by her side. The couple lives with their daughter who claims he cannot wait for her to take him to hospital. According to the daughter, Lutheta, her father has been walking to and from the hospital for a long time. “He doesn’t have to, but he wants to. I can drive him. He just doesn’t want to wait; he’s impatient.” He is said to have also stayed overnight in the hospital when she was sick and would refuse to leave her. A GoFundMe page was reportedly set up for the family to help with hospital expenses and the cost of rides to and from the hospital and over $20,000 has been raised so far.
